ブランド設立当初から続けている修繕・染め直し、2021年に開始した買取、及び継続的な定番品の展開は、
短サイクル消費・大量廃棄を前提としたアパレル産業の根幹的な問題である構造に対する弊社なりの反抗で、
それはブランドを設立した大きな意義となっています。
今回の展示では、買取した服に必要に応じて染め直しや修繕、クリーニングを行ったものを中心に、
ブランドの取り組みをご紹介いたします。　

MITTANは世界に遺る衣服や生地にまつわる歴史を元に、現代の民族服を提案しています。
平面的な構造を再解釈し、天然素材が持つ本来の機能性と組み合わせることで、
一過性の時代の流れにとらわれることの無い、永く続く服を目指しています。

Repairing and dyeing that has continued since the brand’s inception.
The purchase of used clothing, which began in 2021, and the continuous development of standard items. All of these are our own rebellion against the apparel industry’s fundamental problematic structure, which is based on short-cycle consumption and mass disposal.
This is the major significance of establishing the brand.

In this exhibition, we will focus on purchased clothes that have been re-dyed, repaired, and cleaned as necessary, and will introduce the brand’s approach.

MITTAN
proposes contemporary ethnic clothing based on the history of clothing and fabrics left behind in the world.
By reinterpreting flat structures and combining them with the original functionality of natural materials,
We aim to create long-lasting clothes that are not bound by the transient trends of the times.
